The Selection is a fantasy/sci-fi novel that follows pauper America Singer as she is transported from her quiet world into the eyes of the nation against her will when she is selected to be one of the 35 commoner girls that will travel to the palace to live in splendor and compete for the prince's hand in marriage.
I love this book. It is so creative and has an enrapturing story line that doesn't let you put the book down. It seems like it would be pretty slow, but the storyline follows other aspects of a crown that one wouldn't even realize were there. It is the first book of a trilogy, so if you like the first one you can read on to find out how America's story ends. I really recommend this book for you to read!
