Best Places to Go in California!
As you may know, I am from Boston, MA. This summer I came out to California to visit my grandparents as usual. Now that I have been coming here every summer for the past eight years, I’ve gotten to know Santa Barbara and Goleta. Here are my favorite places!
Food:
-In n’Out: A.K.A. The best burger place of all time. Their chocolate shakes and fries are to die for. Unfortunately we don’t have this chain back east, but I still seriously recommend it.
-Rusty’s Pizza Parlor: Want pizza? Go here. Amazing pizza every day. This is also a Californian chain, so I always take advantage when I come.
-See’s candies: This is one store I’m glad we don’t have back home because if I did, I would eat it every. Single. Day. That’s right. It’s that good. See’s candies have the best chocolates ever! I always get the milk chocolate bordeaux and the milk chocolate butter. 11/10 recommend!
-The beach!!!!! I love to surf, but the waves back home don’t compare to the waves out here. The water here is much warmer. My grandparents’ house is only about ten minutes away from the beach. I love going there with my whole family, or even just on surf trips with my brother. Some of my favorite beaches for just playing around include Butterfly Beach, Goleta Beach, and Leadbetter Beach. The beach makes a fun family outing if you ever have a day off.
-Goleta pier: I love walking the pier in the evening when the sun is setting over the palm trees. The view is incredible. I also like to walk out to the end and just sit and think for a little while. It’s very peaceful. This may not be the most touristy spot, but it's still one of my favorites.
-Mountain View elementary: The school is pretty close to my house so after dinner I like going to there with my cousin, brother and uncle to hang out and goof around. I love swinging on the swings and playing mini baseball and soccer games
