Upcoming Marvel Movies
CONTAINS AVENGERS: ENDGAME SPOLIERS!!!
If you guys are as crazy a Marvel fan as I am, you're probably wondering what the heck Marvel is up to now that they've finished Phase 4. (Seriously though, what was up with that ending?! Marvel really did us dirty with that one://) Here are all the movies and expected release dates for movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 5 (this does not include films in the X Men Universe or the Spiderverse).
Spiderman: Far From Home
Sequel to the first Marvel Spiderman: Homecoming movie with everyone's favorite Brit, Tom Holland, Far From Home focuses on Peter Parker's trip to Europe and how he's coping with the loss of his mentor, Ton Stark. This movie is being released on July 5th, 2019. You can watch the official trailer here.
Black Widow
Although finally getting a Black Widow solo movie is a little bittersweet thanks to the character's death in Endgame, we're thankful anyways. Obviously, the movie is going to be a prequel, though it is still unclear how far back in the past the movie will be set. Fans speculate that it could be anywhere from her days with the Red Room as a spy to after Captain America: Civil War. This movie has started filming but no trailers have been released and no release date has been set. It is expected to come out in 2020.
The Eternals
In Marvel Comics, a race called the Celestials create the Eternals, a superhuman and immortal people. The Eternals are gifted with the powers of flight, matter manipulation, and telepathy, and are tasked with protecting Earth. Although a director for this film has been hired, filming has yet to start and a release date has yet to be determined.
The following films have not been confirmed by Marvel, but have been hinted at by cast members and directors.
Black Panther 2
Since the first Black Panther movie was such a smash, it is almost certain Marvel will be doing a sequel.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Although this film was confirmed to be directed by James Gunn, it is now uncertain after Disney fired him due to inappropriate tweets from his past. Hopefully a new director can be found, as I'm sure everyone wants this movie now that there's a chance Gamora is back, and the film would almost certainly focus on finding her!
Doctor Strange 2
Director Robert Cargill says there is already an idea for a sequel, along with Mordo as a main villain.
Ms. Marvel
Focusing on a young Muslim girl with shapeshifting abilities inspired by Captain Marvel to fight crime, this film would be a huge step forward for representation in Marvel films.
